3 Tips You Need to Know for Beautiful Skin

Every day, women are adding significant amounts of harmful toxins and chemicals to their body through the use of some of their favorite skincare and beauty products. We are sold the idea that the price of beauty is high, and unfortunately the cost is often our health, not just dollars. Most commercial products - including the high end very expensive products- contain fragrances, preservatives and stabilizers that can easily be absorbed through the skin. As the largest organ of the body, your skin takes in a number of toxins each day.

Beauty products contain many ingredients that are endocrine disruptors. These chemicals have a similar chemical structure to your body's own estrogen, causing your body to react to the false-estrogen which can disrupt your DNA, and cause a wide range or hormone-related issues including infertility, irregular periods, weight gain and cancer.

So how can you have beautiful skin and keep your body healthy at the same time?

The answer is in understanding what causes most of your skincare issues, and how to both prevent and reverse damage to the skin. In our HMI Holistic Skincare Secrets Class we cover everything from acne, to stretch marks, to premature aging and so many other issues affecting our skin. We talk about what to do about it, including some amazingly effective supplements you can take that have been proven to work, as well as providing you with numerous skin-saving recipes for cleansers, scrubs, moisturizers, toners and hydrators. Three of the most important things to look at include:

1. Lifestyle Choices.
Not getting enough sleep and not handling stress well are two of the most disruptive things to healthy skin. Stress hormones are proven to cause premature aging as well as acne. Poor sleep contributes to sagging skin, lack of vibrance and dark circles under the eyes. During sleep is when your skin rejuvenates itself and repairs damage.

2. Food and Hydration.
How much water do you drink? Did you know that when you are dehydrated, the cells aren’t working right because all the biochemical reactions take place in the presence of water. We’re now just discovering that water does much more than act as a solvent — it actually forms a uniform layer inside the cells that aid in energy production. Stay Green, Green salads contain tons of antioxidants for the skin, and also increase the nitric oxide in your blood. Nitric oxide gives you a glow.

3. You are too harsh with your skin. You’re relying on harsh exfoliating brushes.
Mechanical exfoliation with the use of harsh brushes and electric scrubbers actually irritates the skin and causes inflammation.

There is no such thing as a quick fix, but eating raw fresh vegetables and fruits, avoiding alcohol and smoking, and getting proper sleep is a great way to start. Relying on the so-called quick-fixes like Botox is a HUGE mistake. Botox is a neurotoxin that paralyzes muscles by interfering with the nerve impulse. When your muscles are not getting activated by the nerves, they atrophy. Young skin has plenty of muscle and plenty of fat in the face, so deliberately atrophying your muscles is a bad long term strategy.
